The management committee of Stoney Stanton Tennis Club approached David Pearce Electrical for energy efficiency guidance with a view to upgrading their ageing and failing Floodlight system for a modern LED equivalent for three of their Tennis courts.
About The Project
The 20-year-old Philips floodlights had served the club well but were now failing on occasions and appeared to be taking longer and longer to get up to full brightness. The rising cost of electricity was also a concern, as the 400w lamps were actually consuming more in the region of 600w when the control gear inefficiencies were factored in.
At David Pearce Electrical, we work closely with all of the prolific lighting manufacturers; we approached several for their thoughts and designs to help us to offer Stoney Stanton Tennis Club options to upgrade to LED lighting at a fiscally viable price point. The key objectives being : 1) circa 500lux (average) of uniform quality lighting and 2) reduced operational costs.
A design provided by BELL Lighting was the favourable option; their design provided the target lighting levels, a 7-year product warranty package and massive efficiency savings. The electrical consumption of the new LED lighting was half the kW hours of the old lighting scheme.
